Tønder is the place to get into the Christmas spirit. As soon as the Christmas lights spread cheer in the streets, the activities begin. The Grand Santa Claus Procession through the city kicks off the festivities, as runners dressed in Santa Claus costumes take to the streets for the annual Santa Run.
The Old Pharmacy from 1671 exudes a classic Christmas atmosphere, and here you can get your Christmas mail stamped at Santa's post office. In the streets there is Christmas music and the smell of burnt almonds. The Christmas train runs through the city, and you can hop on at Torvet. The town's beautiful Christmas tree also adorns Tønder Torv and is surrounded by stalls with Christmas decorations and gifts for the feast of the heart.
