Denmark's nicest Christmas town

Barrels are the place to get in the Christmas spirit! As soon as the Christmas lights spread coziness in the streets, the activities begin. The big Santa Claus procession through the city kicks off the festivities, while runners dressed in Santa costume take the legs on the neck for the annual Santa Run. The Old Pharmacy from 1671 exudes a classic Christmas atmosphere, and here you can have the Christmas mail stamped at Santa's post office. In the streets there is Christmas music and a scent of roasted almonds. In the square, the city's Christmas tree is surrounded by stalls with Christmas decorations and gifts for the feast of hearts.

The Christmas town of Tønder means that the shops are open all week from Saturday 4 November onwards:

Monday-Friday at 10.00 - 17.30
Saturdays at 10.00 – 17.00
Sundays at 11.00 – 17.00

The Christmas fun starts this year on Saturday 9 November 2024, and the Christmas town of Tønder runs until 23 December.
The shops are open throughout the week - including SATURDAYS and SUNDAYS from 9 November. Individual stores may have other opening hours.

The Christmas cabins:
Monday-Friday at 12.00 – 17.00
Saturday at 10.00 - 17.00
Sunday at 11.00 - 17.00.
