PRESS RELEASE
Tønderhallerne is using the closure to develop a new website

Tønderhallerne has used the Corona closure to develop a new website with an integrated booking system.

New website for Tønderhallerne

Tønderhallerne, like so many others in culture and sports, was closed down from day to day due to the Corona pandemic's permanent roof in the country. And what do you do then? As you know, nothing is so bad that it is not good for anything. And with that setting, the shutdown became the occasion for a series of updates; some took the time to give the center an overhaul in the form of cleanup, roofing, lighting, and replacements, while others took up space behind the scenes with a mission to give the website a boost.

It has long been a desire to make the website more functional and user-friendly - among other things. with the aim of meeting the demand for an online booking option. Now, several months of work culminate in the launch of the center's new website, which just integrates a newly developed booking system. This is a milestone for the user experience, as in future you will be able to make a booking on the go. Center manager Claus Beck is pleased that in future users will be able to book exercise, tickets and swimming passes whenever and wherever they want.

“We are initially launching a website that gives our exercisers the opportunity to book courses and buy admission passes online. In addition, a number of communicative and design improvements have been made, which should make the user experience significantly more intuitive than we know it from before. ”

Claus also expresses great satisfaction with the website and the way the center's identity is expressed.

Fresh power to grab the balls

Work on the website really took off in November 2020, when Melissa McCann Seeberg was appointed to lead the process of Lennart Christensen affiliated as a web designer / web developer. Center manager Claus Beck praises the process and welcomes the fact that the center's primary platform in such a fine way encapsulates the values and framework that the center sets for sports and the community in Tønder.

“We had previously affiliated with Lennart, which is web designer specializing in WordPress. As we are hit by further tightening of the Corona restrictions and the assembly ban in the latter part of 2020, I decided together with the board to join Melissa, who has since grabbed the balls and steered the project to the goal. ”

The booking house Compusoft is behind the booking portal with a ticket solution, integrated access control to the swimming pool with built-in capacity management and a system that will facilitate the user experience and create an overview of bookings. Initially, you can book swimming, squash, badminton, paddle tennis and table tennis via the system.

New initiatives will promote Tønderhallerne

The Corona shutdown has taken a heavy toll on Tønderhallerne. Therefore, this kind of development is also crucial in the attempt to retain and attract users. The website is an obvious medium to show what the center, Tønder city and the area around Tønder has to offer citizens and tourists. With the launch of a newsletter, which is published every other month, you will in future be able to receive news from Tønderhallerne directly in your inbox. On the website you will find a guide on how to sign up for the newsletter.
